BRIEF-U.S. Justice Dept says joined lawsuit against SAIC

WASHINGTON, July 2 (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department:

* said that it had joined a false claims suit against Science Applications International Corp (NYSE: SAI - news)
..

* says suit also against SAIC partner, Applied Enterprise Solutions and its CEO Dale Galloway,

* says also named in the suit were Stephen Adamec, former Director of the Naval Oceanographic Major Shared Resource Center (NAVO MSRC) at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi; and Robert Knesel, Deputy Director of NAVO MSRC

* said that Adamec and Knesel, then government employees, conspired to ensure SAIC and its partners won a $3.2 billion contract
