PARIS, April 2 (Reuters) - Below are leading stories from
French and Benelux newspapers and company-related news which
could have an impact on the region's markets or individual

The French supermarket group said on Thursday it has put in
place a new option to buy 5 percent of share capital of Dutch
retailer Super de Boer (Amsterdam: SDB.AS - news) from ING. The option can be exercised at

BENETEAU (Paris: FR0000035164 - news)
French yachtmaker Beneteau may cut between 700 and 800 jobs
to adjust to a fall in orders, French daily Le Figaro reports on
Thursday. In an e-mail to Reuters Beneteau said it was reviewing
'the prospects of the 2010 season' and holding talks with the
group's staff and staff representatives. It did not discuss the
job cuts figures cited by Le Figaro.
SOITEC (Paris: FR0004025062 - news)
French silicon group Soitec said on Thursday it planned to
cut its workforce by at least 10 percent to adjust to lower
demand amid an economic slowdown. Soitec employs 1,000 people.
SAFRAN
The supervisory board of French conglomerate Safran (Paris: FR0000073272 - news) is
expected to meet later this month to decide if Chairman Francis
Mer can complete the last two years of his mandate, French daily
Les Echos reported on Thursday.

SAINT-GOBAIN
The Saint-Gobain and Turkish glassmaker Sisecam said on
Thursday they have agreed to jointly develop their flat glass
(float) activities in Egypt and Russia. Sisecam will take a
minority stake in Saint-Gobain Glass's investment project to
build its first float glass production line in Egypt, alongside
Saint-Gobain's local partner, MMID, the statement said.
In addition, a joint venture will be set up between
Saint-Gobain and Sisecam for the construction of a float line in
Russia, in the Republic of Tatarstan.
BNP PARIBAS (Paris: FR0000131104 - news) /FORTIS (Amsterdam: FORAL.AS - news)
Fortis NV on Wednesday postponed a shareholder vote until
April 28-29 on the sale of its former banking arm to BNP Paribas
SA, casting fresh doubt over whether it can complete the deal.

French oil major Total SA (Paris: FR0000120271 - news) said on Wednesday it sold a 10
percent stake in a proposed Canadian oil sands project to
China's Sinopec, making both firms equal partners in
the multibillion-dollar venture.
SOLVAY
Belgian drugs, chemicals and plastics maker Solvay (Brussels: SOLB.BR - news) said on
Wednesday it was holding talks with various third parties
concerning options for its pharmaceutical business. The
Financial Times said Solvac (Brussels: SOLV.BR - news) , which owns a 30 percent stake in
Solvay, had rejected an offer by drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis.
Sanofi and Solvay declined to comment.

French mailroom equipment company Neopost (Paris: FR0000120560 - news) is ready to look
at significant acquisitions in its core business this year and
is interested in German rival Francotyp-Postalia Holding , top executives told Reuters.

New car registrations in France rose 8.1 percent in March on
a year ago, helped by a government inventive to scrap older
cars, carmakers' association CCFA said on Wednesday.
VINCI (Paris: FR0000125486 - news)
Vinci has won two deals worth a total of 86 million euros
($113.6 million) in Germany, the world's largest public works
and transport concessions group said on Wednesday.
