The fund, which launched in 2005, had never really caught the attention of investors or advisors and only had £13 million of assets. It was one of the worst performing funds in its sector since launch, losing around 15% of its value while the sector average was marginally up.

The manager’s style was to invest in medium-sized companies, however the US market has tended to favour larger companies in recent years. Investors in the JO Hambro American Growth Fund are being offered the opportunity to switch into the JO Hambro US Opportunities Fund, which can invest across the spectrum of the US market.
