Bischoff being lined up as Lloyds chairman - FT
LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) - Former Citigroup chairman Win Bischoff is being lined up to become the chairman of Lloyds Banking Group (LSE: LLOY.L - news) , the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, citing people close to the process.
The paper said Bischoff had been approached about the job by UK Financial Investments, the body that handles the British government's stakes in several banks, including Royal Bank of Scotland (LSE: RBS.L - news) .
Other possible candidates to replace departing Chairman Victor Blank include Mervyn Davies, the former head of Standard Chartered (LSE: STAN.L - news) , Lloyds deputy Chairman Sandy Leitch, and former trade minister Digby Jones.
Lloyds, which has been left saddled with bad loans after agreeing a government-brokered rescue of HBOS last year, was not immediately available for comment.
